Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to explain the key challenges and considerations of photographing at night, such as exposure, light sources, and focusing techniques in low-light conditions.

Participants will develop the ability to recognise and work with the unique lighting conditions during the golden hour and twilight, enhancing their photos with natural light.

Participants will be able to capture sharp and well-exposed long-exposure images, experimenting with exposure times to create artistic effects like smooth water.

Participants will learn how to achieve accurate focus in low-light conditions, using techniques like manual focus, focus peaking, or using a flashlight to aid focusing.

Participants will be able to skillfully incorporate interesting foreground and background elements, such as rocks, cliffs, or distant landscapes, to add depth and context to their sunset and sea images.

Participants will learn how to use various lens filters, such as polarisers and ND (neutral density) filters, to enhance their sunset and sea photography. They will understand how to reduce glare, control exposure in bright conditions, and achieve more vibrant colours and contrast in their images.
