Welcome to The Camera Loft! I’m Robert Capp, a passionate photographer and educator who aims to help others capture the world through their lens and bring to life their creative visions.

I have worked professionally in the photographic industry for the last 10 years and had the pleasure of being mentored by some great photographers and technicians. I am proud that my work has been published in various applications and be able to share my passion. Before photography took over my world, I worked within education, where I specialised in Forest School, Outdoor Education and Play.

How did this idea of creating an educational photographic business come about?

When working at Mifsuds Photographic in Brixham, I realised many customers were asking the same question; '“Do you know of any local photography workshops?”.

I couldn’t signpost them to a place to learn, so I began to think, “Is that something I could do?” and “Could I mix my previous educational experiences with my photography“?

And that is the story of how The Camera Loft was created.

But why is it called The Camera Loft?

In the houses I’ve lived in, the loft has always been a dedicated space for creativity and learning. It became a space that encouraged thinking, skills, and comfort—a ‘hub’ of sorts. To this day, my loft is still that space.

The vision is to have a permanent hub for further learning. It will become a pillar within the community that networks with other local businesses to provide a range of linked photographic experiences and opportunities.
